The Village of Midway is accepting sealed, written bids for the sale of the following surplus municipal asset:
- Asset Description: Used – 2007 Wardhaul Workman: WM716TA2 Box Vehicle
- Condition: Sold strictly “As-Is, Where-Is.”
- Minimum Reserve Price: $2,500.00 (Plus applicable GST). Bids below this amount will be disqualified.
Important Exclusions & Modifications
Please note that any tools, equipment, or loose items shown inside the asset in marketing photographs are strictly excluded from this sale. All municipal decals, logos, and identifying markings will be permanently removed by the Municipality prior to the buyer taking possession.
Inspection Opportunities
Prospective bidders are highly encouraged to inspect the trailer prior to bidding. Viewing is available by appointment only. The trailer can be inspected at or near 661 8th Ave, Midway, BC by scheduling an appointment with John Boltz (250) 449-8272 or Corey Kortmeyer (250) 449-1900, to meet at an arranged date and time.
Submission Deadline & Requirements
- Deadline: Sealed bids must be received no later than September 14, 2026 at 16:00 (4:00 pm PST)
- Late submissions will not be opened or considered.
- Format: Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked: “Sealed Bid: Surplus Trailer Sale – Bid # 2026-01”.

Bid Package & Opening
Complete Bid Packages, including the mandatory Bid Submission Form and full terms and conditions, can be found below or picked up in person at the Municipal Office.
Bids will be opened publicly at the Municipal Office on September 15, 2026 at 13:00 (1:00pm PST). In the event of a tie, the contract will be awarded to the qualified bid that was received and time-stamped first by municipal staff. The Municipality reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

1. Scope and Description of Asset
The Municipality is accepting sealed bids for the sale and removal of the following surplus vehicle/equipment:

- Condition: Used. Sold “As-Is, Where-Is.”

2. Submission Instructions
- Format: Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope.

3. Terms and Conditions
- Minimum Reserve Price: The minimum acceptable bid for this asset is $2500.00. Any bid submitted below this minimum value will be deemed non-responsive and immediately disqualified from consideration.
- “As-Is” Sale: The Municipality makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the condition, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose of this vehicle.
- Right of Refusal: The Municipality reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to accept the bid deemed most advantageous to the Municipality.
- Payment: The winning bidder must pay the full balance via certified cheque, bank draft, or wire transfer within five (5) business days of award notification. Cash and personal cheques are not accepted.
- Removal: The buyer is solely responsible for all loading, hitching, and/or transport. The trailer must be removed from Municipality property within seven (7) business days of final payment.
- If the highest bidder fails to pay within five (5) days, the trailer will be offered to the second highest bidder, if this action is unsuccessful, the item will be re-listed for sale.
- Tie-Breaker Provision: In the event that two or more conforming bids submit the exact same highest dollar amount, the contract will be awarded to the bidder whose sealed bid was received, logged, and time-stamped first by the Municipality.
- Taxes: The successful bidder shall be responsible for paying all applicable taxes, including the 5% Goods and Services Tax (GST) and any applicable provincial sales taxes, in addition to the winning bid amount. The Municipality will add these taxes to the final invoice upon award.
- Exclusions and Modifications: Any tools, equipment, or loose items shown in the listing photographs are strictly excluded from this sale. Furthermore, all municipal decals, logos, and identifying markings will be professionally removed by the Municipality prior to the buyer taking possession. The removal of decals may cause cosmetic variations or shadowing on the trailer exterior.
