Services provided by the Village:

Sewer – 2026 residential rates are $310.10/year.

Water – 2026 residential rates are $304.30/year.

Water is pumped from deep wells into the reservoir on the north hill and gravity fed to the Village. Currently there is no water-metering but irrigating and watering of lawns and gardens is prohibited between the hours of 10 am and 6 pm daily during the summer months.

2026 Utility Billing as been issued and due on July 2, 2026.  Any outstanding amounts after that day will incur a 10% penatly.

Curbside Recycling – a blue bin program is provided by the Regional District Kootenay Boundary (operated by GFL Environmental) on alternate Wednesdays.  Blue Bin Recycling Schedule and Info.

Garbage Collection – the RDKB provides garbage pick-up every Wednesday and bag tags can be purchased at The Spot gas station or Hammy’s Kettle Valley grocery store for $3/each.

Green Bin Waste Collection – the RDKB provides Green Bin recycling on Wednesdays in Midway. Please refer to the Boundary/West Boundary Green Bin User Guide to determine what can and cannot go in the green bin and the West Boundary Collection Calendar for pick-up days.

Alternatively, you may wish to take your garbage and recycling to a landfill yourself at the following locations.   These locations will also have additional recycling bins for materials that are not picked up curbside, such as glass, foam packaging and flexible plastics.
