Staff and the Council of the Village of Midway are waiting in anticipation for the bidding process to close on BC Bid*. The project went out to tender in March, 2024 at a smaller scope and the tender process closes on April 16, 2024. The design scope will ensure that the building is more energy efficient, and the upgrades will greatly improve wheelchair accessibility. The Village was successful in receiving $1,585,660.00 in grant funding for this upgrade, $1,185,660.00 from the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program Fund (ICIP) and $400,000.00 from the Building Communities through Arts and Heritage (BCAH) Fund. At the March 12, 2024 Regular Council meeting, Council released the approval of a construction budget up to $2.2million for this project. Dividends received from West Boundary Community Forest and contributions made to the Community Hall Reserve Fund will fund the remainder of this project.
