Take Me Outside For Learning

Back in June, teachers and students from Midway Elementary and Greenwood Elementary invited film maker Yana Kehrlein to join their classes in the Midway Community Garden and on the Trans Canada Trail to talk about why learning in outdoor spaces is so important for kids and educators. Check out the video to see how our local teachers, and others from across the Kootenays, are teaching the next generation to celebrate the outdoors through learning!

Report Adult Abuse – Interior Health has launched a new, confidential toll-free number to report the mistreatment of older adults. Anyone within Interior Health who has concerns regarding elder abuse can call 1-844-870-7454 to be connected with an Interior Health staff member who is trained to respond to such situations. It may look like an old gas pump from the past but looks can be deceiving. This is in fact a new Electric Car Charging Station located at the Kettle River Museum in Midway. Kudos to the Public Works Foreman for combining the past and the present to create a unique home for the charging station.
