If you would like to have your event advertised on the Village LED Sign (located outside of the Midway Public Library) please have your event information to us by the Tuesday following regular Council meetings (the first and third Monday of every month).

 

The Boundary Regional Chamber of Commerce also advertises events in the Boundary area.

Midway Movie Madness - Annual Dinner and a Movie! Presented by the Midway Community Association. February 17, 2017 Dinner at 5:30 pm (meat and veggie chili, homemade buns and Johnny Cake, fresh green salad, Valentine cookies) Showtime at 7:30 pm at the Midway Community Hall. $3 includes popcorn and a drink for the movie too! Please bring your own cup. Featuring: Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (PG) The scientist father of a teenage girl and boy accidentally shrinks his and two other neighborhood teens to the size of insects. Now the teens must fight diminutive dangers as the father searches for them.

JANUARY

 

Midway Branding Project Public Meeting - Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 7:00 pm in the Midway Community Centre. Come hear an update on the branding project with Munday Media and Design, and participate in a survey to help us with creating a unique brand for the Village of Midway. Everyone is encouraged to attend!

 

Dance Class Free Workshop - Dazzle Dance of Grand Forks is coming to Midway! Jazz, Hip Hop, and Lyrical dance for ages 7 to adult. Join them on Friday, January 20 at 11:00 am in the Midway Community Centre for a free, fun workshop. The workshop will allow you to discover the style of dance that best suits your interests and will help gauge the interest in the community. A minimum of 8 students per class is required and provided there is enough interest they will run 10, 1 hour classes on Fridays beginning January 27, 2017. The cost is $200 for 10 sessions. Attend the workshop for more information and to have your questions answered.

Featuring: Chicken Run (G) When a cockerel apparently flies into a chicken farm, the chickens see him as an opportunity to escape their evil owners.

 

Ballet Classes for Children - Join Livia Malina for a short information meeting on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 5:00 pm in the Midway Community Centre about Ballet Classes for children ages 4-7+. For more information please phone 250-449-2378.

 

Midway Public Library AGM - Friday, January 27, 2017 at 6:30 pm at the Midway Public Library. Everyone welcome.

APRIL

 

Midway Community Garden Opening - The Midway Community Garden is opening for the season on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:00 am at the garden tent. All community garden growers are invited to attend to go over the rules and regulations of the garden, to learn watering and security information, and to participate in a seed sharing opportunity. Those people interested in volunteering at the Community Garden or those looking to learn more about the garden are also encouraged to attend.

 

Canada 150 in Midway Casting Call - The Canada 150 Committee is holding auditions for a short film they are producing for the Canada 150 Celebrations in Midway on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Midway Community Centre from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Open to everyone in the West Boundary - singers, dancers, actors, musicians, pets, magic tricks, fun stories, etc.

 

2017 All Candidates Forum for the upcoming BC Provincial Election - Hosted by the Boundary Country Regional Chamber of Commerce. Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Midway Community Centre. 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm (doors open at 6:30 pm).

Grad Class 2017 Spaghetti Dinner and Fundraiser - The BCSS Grad Class of 2017 is hosting a spaghetti dinner and fundraiser on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the high school in Midway. Doors open at 5:30 pm, dinner at 6:30 pm. $12 per person, free for ages 6 and under. Come on out and support the local Grad Class of 2017!

Canada 150 Celebration - Saturday, July 1, 2017. James G. McMynn Park in Midway, BC. Join us as we celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Canada and the 50th Anniversary of Midway! Parade starts at 1:30 pm followed by the Opening Ceremonies, Dinner, Family Dance and Fireworks.

 

Tree to Our Nature Canada 150 Legacy Program Presentation - Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the Entwined Trees Park in Midway. Join us for a presentation of the Tree to Our Nature plaque.
